eCYBERMISSION
is a internet-based science, math and technology competition.
Registration
begins at school on September 25, 2007 and ends on October 15, 2007.
Mrs.
Casselbury sponsors eCybermission is a "real world science fair
experiment". Students in grades 6, 7 and 8 are able to compete
first within the State, then Region and finally Nation. The students
must work in teams of 3-4 with all members being in the same grade, not
necessarily same class, but the same grade.
The
students develop a science fair hypothesis, do the research on the
problem and provide ways of solving the problem. The problem can be as
large as a regional problem or as small as the school or grade.
Last
year we started with 7 teams and 3 team completed the mission.
They received Honorable Mention and were awarded T-Shirts and a
Certificate at the Awards Ceremony at the end of the year. This
is a GREAT way to apply Science and Technology to real world problems.
