Corpus Christi Summary Chart of Late Openings and Closings
If Fairfax County Schools close for the entire day, then school, daycare and extended day will be closed also.
Corpus Christi School follows the Fairfax County School system on decisions made due to inclement weather including school closings, delayed openings, early closings, and cancellation of after school/evening activities. All decisions should be made by 6:00 am for closings and delayed openings. Most television and radio stations will announce Fairfax County closings and delays.
REVISED 11/07: If closings/delays differ from Fairfax County OR if Fairfax County Schools are closed, then families will need to listen to Channel 9, W.U.S.A., and listen for Corpus Christi School in Falls Church, VA. There are generally only two days at the end of every quarter that Fairfax County Schools are closed and Corpus Christi School is open.
When possible, closings/delays may also be posted the following ways:
- The Elementary Campus' MAIN message (not extension 10), 703-820-7450 -- Do NOT call the Early Childhood Center
- The school's homepage -- Unless there is a power outage, closings/delays will always be posted
- An email will be sent to those signed up for weekly e-letter or urgent e-notices
Early Childhood Center Policy
· If Fairfax County Schools are closed, the Early Childhood Center is closed - This includes the Daycare and Extended Day programs · If schools are closed one (1) or two (2) hours early - Preschool will end at the normal time of 11:50 a.m. - Kindergarten will end at 1:55 p.m. for a one (1) hour early closing and 12:55 p.m. for a two (2) hour early closing - Daycare and Extended -- Parents are encouraged to pick up their children as soon as is safely possible
DELAYED OPENINGS · On days when Fairfax County Schools delay opening by either one or two hours,
the preschool and
kindergarten will open at 10:00 a.m. · Daycare and Extended Day at the ECC will open at -- 8:00 a.m. when there is a one hour delay -- 9:00 a.m. when there is a two hour delay |
