Hello Christmas Attic Elves!
Thank you to all for an extremely successful Christmas Attic. From the kids gaming room to the Silent Auction - across the board we reached record successes. Numbers are still coming in and we'll report them soon, but I wanted to make sure that everyone knew how much your help made this such a fabulous event.
Parents and Teachers - you stepped up and made some of our most creative silent auction baskets to date. Several of you even offered your own specialties to the mix, from swimming lessons to dinners and desserts. And many even contributed great getaways and the newest in cool gadgets. Thank you for thinking outside of the box - or "basket" as it were!
Attic Committee Members - we had an all-star team this year. Not only did we add some fresh faces to our crew, but also we managed to bring back some alumni committee members whose kids have graduated from Corpus Christi. You all pulled a huge event together in record time and I am truly impressed.
The Corpus Christi Administration and Staff - always so gracious about putting up with our planning shenanigans! Thank you for all of your assistance - you helped spread the word, get us into our spaces and were even some of our highest bidders! We could not have done it without you.
Volunteers, volunteers, volunteers! - We had parents, grandparents, children, teenagers, teachers, friends, aunts, uncles, alumni - young and old - all helping pull this day off. We had people baking and cooking, decorating and painting, setting up, cleaning up, counting and calling. Even more were working the rooms and babysitting, auctioning and selling, going above and beyond, changing schedules to help and even battling illness to be a part of it all. YOU are who make this event happen and YOU are who bring the spirit to it.
So, thank you. Thank you, of course, for making this event a financial success - especially in these crazy economic times. But even more importantly, thank you for making this a community success. Throughout the day I saw new friendships made, old friendships made stronger and a general attitude of service and fun prevail. I am proud to have been a part of it and even prouder to be a part of your community.
I hope this has started your holiday season off with a bang. Enjoy the coming months and may you all be blessed during this holiday season!
Peace,
Cindy Marcotty Christmas Attic Chairperson
