While this is my first year at Corpus Christi I am no stranger to Catholic Education. I attended Catholic Schools from 1st-12th grade and taught in a Catholic School in the Bronx for 10 years. I taught Kindergarten for 8 years. I was also an acting assistant principal for two years at the same school while teaching 7th grade. I also taught 4 year olds for two years and 3 year olds for one year at two separate private schools.
I was born and raised in Yonkers, New York a large city just 15 miles outside of New York City. I briefly lived in Wappinger Falls about an hour north of Yonkers when I got married. This is the first time I have lived outside of New York and I have the accent to prove it.
I attended the State University of New York at Oneonta for my undergraduate in Early Childhood Education and Family Studies with a minor in English. My masters degree is from Mount Saint Vincent College in the Bronx. It is in Multicultural and Environmental Education with a concentration in Elementary Education. I then went to the College of New Rochelle for my certificate in Staff Development and Administration.
The only family I have here in Northern VA is my cousin, her husband, and their three children. I have really found a new family here at Corpus Christi. I really feel welcomed by the teachers and staff. I have fit right in even if I am a diehard Yankee fan.
I love to read and write. In my down time (almost never) my nose is forever in a book. I am also in the process of writing short stories for an anthology a family member is putting together.
I hope there is no snow here this winter. I had enough in New York and rumor has it the streets are cleaned as well here.

I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and have lived in this area since 1977. My first career was as an economist doing analysis for the Navy and Marine Corps.
Looking for a way to help people more directly, I went back to school and earned a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education from George Mason University in 1994.
I have taught at the Early Childhood Center since 1996, and have taught both 3- and 4-year olds. My hobbies include reading, gardening, and swimming.
