Dr. Joelene Michalowicz, Music and Drama director for Corpus Christi School, with over 50 fifth, sixth and seventh graders, performed the elementary school's dramatic presentation of "Scrooged, The Musical" on Thursday, February 5th, to great review.
With over 25 actors from the fifth and sixth graders, and another 25 crew members from the seventh grade, four months in the making, through countless rehearsals and line readings, the production was no small feat.
The play conforms to the time-honored story by Charles Dickens but in a musical format. One change that was made to this production was to have the title role of Bob Crachit replaced with Beth Crachit to allow for the large number of girls that were interested in participating this year.
The scenery, music and acting were all great fun to watch as the Corpus Christi thespians displayed their acting and singing skills.
Any fourth and fifth graders interested in participating in next year's production should contact Dr. Mike Michalowicz about how to be part of next year's blockbuster.
