Preschool Philosophy
The preschool program uses multi-sensory hands on learning approach to teach fine motor skills, auditory and visual learning using cassettes, books, songs, computers, and art. Free play, story time, show and tell, music, crafts, and outdoor play fill the students' morning. Music class is offered weekly. Computers, games and manipulative toys are used to teach the pre-reading readiness skills of number, shape and letter recognition.

Children attend prayer services, participate in community service projects and are provided many cultural arts activities supported by the school's PTO. Parents are confident in knowing their children are being educated in a comfortable and nurturing environment which provides an educational curriculum that allows children to achieve at their highest potential.

Parents have several options for preschool and depending on the selected program, the following requirements apply:
  • Three year old classes are held either two or five days per week in the morning. For the two day program, children attend on Tuesdays and Thursdays. A child must be three years old by September 30th of the school year and must be potty trained
  • Four year old classes are held either three or five days per week, in the morning as well. For the three day program, children attend Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. New for the 2010-11 school year, we will offer a five day, full day Pre-4 program (8:50am-2:50pm) with before and after school care. A child must be four years old by September 30th of the school year and must be potty trained

Kindergarten
Our kindergarten program is held at our Early Childhood Campus separated from the older students and their influences. We feel that by keeping our kindergartners at this campus we boost their self esteem, challenge them to grow without outside factors and help them advance faster with more attention during their first real year in school.

Students are taught an academic curriculum as well as social and moral values. Our kindergarten is a phonetically-based program supplemented by literature. Reading readiness is enhanced by development of oral language and understanding of sound/letter relationships. The curriculum includes reading, math, writing readiness, social studies, science, religion, and safety. Each classroom has computers with educational software that are integrated into the curriculum. As part of our religion program, our students participate in daily prayer and attend Mass on Holy Days.

The students receive weekly classes in physical education, art, library, and music by the elementary campus specialty teachers. Kindergarten students participate in the elementary campus' Christmas pageant, poetry contest and art fair.

Social development includes teaching manners, courtesy, working together, helping others, schoolwork habits, cultural arts and field trips.
