Corpus Christi teams completed their 2009 CYO Basketball season and demonstrated a season of hard work, skills development, team building and that winning Cougar spirit!
Coach Moe Jafari, who wrangled one of the 5th-grade girls teams, commented "Our team learned so much this season, I couldn't believe how much progress we made. We focused on the basics from getting off the line quickly, to dribbling and rebounding aggressiveness, and the girls had a great time learning to love the game of basketball."
Four teams won their divisional championships and two more took second place, the statistics were certainly impressive. And with a focus on team strategy, learning the game of basketball and having fun, this year's effort was met with great success from many different aspects.

Fifth Grade Girl's Coach Sean Ford summed up the season with "I was delighted by the way the blue team performed this year. We challenged them to improve both their skills and their focus level, and they really met the challenge." Coach Ford continued with "We didn't always play our best, and tended to start slowly in games, but they always hung in there and played tough, which was key to their success during the season and in winning the championship."
