Corpus Christi parents and students welcomed new Principal Al Garcia in a small reception last night. At the social, parents had the opportunity to talk with old and new friends and learn about Mr Garcia's vision for the upcoming year.

The catered event had a wide variety of delicious desserts for families to enjoy as Mr. Garcia talked about a wide range of topics including his background as an administrator, the new mass schedule, the changes in classrooms, and the appointment of the school's new Assistant Principal, Marie Bonard.

While Mr. Garcia also fielded questions on financial aid and Title One support, the proposal to bring an International Baccalaureate curriculum to Corpus Christi was of special interest. "Bringing an IB program to Corpus Christi would push our students to achieve greater goals

and attract new students interested in pushing the learning envelope with us", explained Principal Garcia. "I helped to implement an IB program at the previous school I was at and saw the amazing things it did for the students, teachers and the community and I want to bring that to Corpus Christi. Starting an IB program requires a lot of planning, and we will be working through those items in the coming year, but I'm confident this is the right thing for Corpus Christi."

Mr. Garcia closed the evening by thanking everyone for a nice evening and asked for their support as we transition into the coming school year.
