Christmas Pageant

12/14/10
Parents and students of Corpus Christi School celebrated the Christmas season with the school's annual Christmas Pageant. Grades 1-8 from the elementary campus with the Kindergarten class from the Early Childhood center, took center stage to present the songs they'd worked on with music director, Dr. Joleen Michalowicz.

Principal Al Garcia welcomed the audience with a short remembrance of the story of Jesus' birth which set the stage for the arrival of children dressed as Mary, Joseph, the three wise men and Roman soldiers.

"Christmas is my favorite holiday," said Mr. Garcia, "it renews my faith seeing so much kindness and it fills me with optimism and happiness."

The evenings music program included the usual favorites such as "Holy Night" and "Jingle Bells", but also included some twists by having the children sing holiday songs in over 25 languages. "We thought it would be fun for the kids to sing in their native languages and I think the results were great!" said Dr. Michalowicz.

The church was colorfully decorated with holiday ribbons and included a nativity scene at the back. The children's bright costumes and smiling faces made for a beautiful evening fit for the season.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
